History AND Harry Potter all in one

The long night of loud Polish guys and trekking to the train station eventually led us to...

Oxford!

Let me tell you, traveling through the English countryside is like being right inside a Jane Austen novel.

Or a BBC America mini-series.

STUNNING.

And the town of Oxford wasn't too shabby either.

Our first obvious stop was for food. The ginger showed us how to drink espresso like a gentleman. Please note the extended pinky finger.

We walked from the train station area into the city center, and saw some beautiful scenery along the way.

Because I love y'all, I'm willing to include this photo of me with no make up and glasses on. I'm just the picture of beauty, I know. You can't blame me after getting zero sleep!

My favorite attraction we saw was Christ Church College, Oxford University's largest college.

....and also where several Harry Potter scenes were filmed.

!!!!!!!!

This here was the inspiration for the Hogwart's great hall!

And this is the oldest college at Oxford. It has some funky, cool name like Ballilol.

Oxford was a BEAUTIFUL little town, filled with history.

But let's get real. Because I know I can be honest with y'all.

I was in a terrible mood.

I barely took any pictures [as you can see].

I was running on zero sleep.

It was raining.

It was cold.

My feet wanted to die.

We were lugging our giant backpacks around the city.

I am aware that I sound like a huge complainer. Please be my friend still.

It just wasn't my day!

Therefore, I need to return to Oxford one day [in the summer] and enjoy it to its fullest potential!

But after some delicious hot chocolate and a rest for the feetsies, we were off to our next destination....

London.

That is an amazingly beautiful church! I hate travel pictures too- I always feel like I look like a bum, wearing comfy clothes, no nice hair or makeup....oh well- at least they are vacation pics :)

looks like an amazing little trip! all the pictures are beautiful :] sometimes what we have planned in our mind is different then what actually happens -- we just have to learn to roll with the punches!

have a great weekend

So beautiful! Although I know the rain can be a huge bummer. I found you via the FF linkup. And I love the green of your background!

I had a moment (or two) of grumpiness when we traveled through Italy too. I can't be sure...but I think the lack of sleep and walking hundreds (yes hundreds) of miles with huge bags does it. Luckily, it never lasts too long! :)
Don't worry! I TOTALLY know how you felt! :)
