Lost things

I really like stop motion films, and I especially enjoy this one that a friend sent to me. It's beautifully quirky. Enjoy!

*It's a little cutt off on the right for some reason and I don't know why :(

Hello Wine!

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Hello Kitty does indeed have a wine now. Praise be to Sanrio, who realized the iconic kitty was not plastered to enough things. Now we can enjoy her through sweet libations!

I, for one, am excited to sample the Sparkling Brut Rose. What could be better than combining a childhood obsession with my drink of choice?

2. Biting into a crisp apple.

3. Buying a great new piece of clothing for a good price.

4. Snow-covered mountains.

5. Cadbury Eggs

6. Day dreaming about the fabulous life I want to lead.

Keyboard Cat

I have returned from the skiing extravaganza in Steamboat Springs, CO. Pictures will arrive when I am back at home tomorrow. Until then, here is my new favorite video. It is silly, but I cannot stop laughing at it. Meow.

Friday, March 12, 2010

Just as the Texas weather is getting delightfully warm, I'm heading off to Colorado for a ski trip.
Here I come, 18 hour drive!

And here's to hoping I come back sans injuries.

Does anyone know how I can get lines in my posts to be more spaced apart? When I typed out the previous post, I had each item in the list separated with a space. However, when I published it they all went away and now the whole thing just runs together! Help, please!

I definitely stole this from Taylor, but I'm in desperate need of something to do at work. So I'll pretend that people besides my friends actually read this and share some random tidbits about me. And let's be honest, everyone's favorite subject to talk about is themselves.

Sorry James

Finally! Kathryn Bigelow became the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director (plus she won Best Picture too). What makes her victory even sweeter is that she beat out her ex-husband. Ha! Sorry, James Cameron. You may have made the most expensive movie in history AND topped your last film to make Avatar the highest grossing film of all time, but that doesn't buy you votes from the Academy.

I personally thought The Hurt Locker was an incredible film. It could have easily been brushed aside as just another Iraq war movie, but to me it was much more real. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, completely stressed out.

Was it the least commercially successful Best Picture winner ever? Yes. Should Avatar's cutting edge technology and overwhelming popularity have edged it out for the win? Maybe. But I was pleased with the results. I bet James went home and threw a fit.

Little gold man

I will surely give my opinions on it tomorrow.
I live for this night because I'm nerdy like that.
Can I win a gold man one day please? Ok thanks.

Courtney is and old lady!

Happy Birthday, Courtney!!
My dear friend and partner in crime turns 23 today. In her honor, I have chronicled our friendship through pictures. It's been a fun ride!

Thank you Fish Camp for being about 99% responsible for the friends I made in college.

Our Chili Fest adventure. It was cold, wet, and muddy, but this did not stop us from having a great time and riding the Ol' Ags donkey every chance we got.

The start of a Thursday tradition: Big Willy margaritas. Also, the best summer I've ever had.

Getting our Aggie rings together was something we had been looking forward to for an eternity.

Dunking them, however, was another story. Here we are while we (or mostly I) could still see straight.

Spring Break '09, also known as the funnest spring break there ever was.

Pretending to be movie stars walking the red carpet at our Ring Dance.

Having one last hurrah on North Gate before I left for a job in Houston. We all know how this job turned out. But let's not allow that to overshadow the fun that was had on this night!

And we even got to go to Europe together.
(Florence at the Piazzale Michelangelo)

Although we are vampire fans, we were pretending to be werewolves in the Montmatre Cemetery.

Being there with one of my best friends in the world was pretty magical.

Being groped by a man singing Beatles songs in Munich was quite the experience.

In London, we found out that our English accents are rather embarrassing.
So happy birthday my friend! I wish we got to see each other more, but I love you dearly and can't wait to see you some time soon!

Chocolate, wax, and Snooki

A list of random items to start the morning:

1. Nestle is sponsoring an actual GOLDEN TICKET contest in their Wonka Bars. The winner gets to take 3 friends on a TRIP AROUND THE WORLD. I'm fairly certain I've never actually seen a Wonka Bar, but rest assured I will be seeking them out now.
2. Madame Tussaud's in London is adding Rob Pattinson to their collection. The work of the wax people makers never fails to impress me, but I am skeptical that they will be able to capture his brooding look. Oh no, I sound like a 13 year old girl. Forgive me, I sometimes like to regress 10 years.
3. Snooki and her ridiculous hair bump annoy me and should not be allowed to be a pop culture icon. That is all.
4. Oscar night has snuck up on me this year. As a film lover and someone who wouldn't mind going into the business one day, Oscar night is typically akin to a national holiday for me. However, this year I'm worried because I no longer have access to DVR in my house. The horror!! Hopefully I'll be able to snag the t.v. before anyone else starts using it.
5. Easter candy is everywhere and is serving as a torture device for me. I caved and bought a bag of Cadbury mini milk chocolate eggs (not to be confused with normal Cadbury eggs...those are bigger and creme filled. Also, they are my favorite chocolate and I have yet to purchase any because I CAN'T FIND THEM. Sadness. Yet, probably a good thing).

How yummy do these chocolate shoes look? Two of my favorite things in one!

Monday, March 1, 2010

On this dreary Monday, I would love nothing more than to have a Kinder bueno bar (or 2...or 10). This was one of my many foodie discoveries in Europe last summer. It was magical being able to buy them in every metro stop, to the detriment of my weight. Yum.
