Seeing Coldplay in concert is a religious experience

Let's talk about how I love me some Coldplay and have been waiting YEARS to see them.

Unfortunately, I was always a poor college student when they came to Houston for shows.

But alas!! I am no longer a poor college student!

It took about...oh....5 seconds for me to get emotional when they came out.

I was in awe.

Our seats were rather good [contrary to what my crappy iPhone photos make it look like], so having Chris Martin so nearby was pleasantly overwhelming. Move over Gwenyth!!

But seriously, if you ever have the opportunity to see them...do it. You will NOT be disappointed!

Gorgeous necklace courtesy of the wonderful Megan. Go buy things from her here!

Come on in, I've got to tell you what a state I'm in
I've got to tell you in my loudest tones
That I started looking for a warning sign

Good music. Go listen. I insist.

This gem of a song is by one of my oldest friends, Aisha.

Not only does she play violin in the amazing band, Balmorhea, she now sings and plays guitar on her own.

I've known this wonderful lady since we were 12 years old, and I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of her.

Good friends going places makes me happy.

Cougar tendencies

Um..how adorable are they?

Forget how young they are.

According to an Entertainment Weekly interview, they are not clean cut. They drink! They date older women! The horror!

Maybe it's because they're British, but I am all for One Direction.

I swear I'm not creepy.

Plus, I know I'm not the only one out there!!

100% success rate in getting members of a band to wave at us

Last week a group of fun ladies went to the rodeo to see Lady Antebellum.

This was my second year to see them, and the third year in a row that Courtney was able to score super close seats...seats so close that the band could actually see us and wave back as we waved obnoxiously at them.

It is also important to note that these seats came with free food.

And let's not forget the camel I met who got a little too fresh with me.

Please read that man's shirt.

Classy, I say.

Current song obsession

I"ve been rather irritated with Glee as of late.

There have been some hilarious nuggets here and there, but for the most part I've just felt....meh about it.

Then they covered this song on Tuesday.

Can't.stop.listening.

The original by fun. [yes, that is the band's name] is also excellent.

Have a fabulous weekend, lovelies!

Insert lyrics to Taylor Swift songs here

I mentioned I was going to the Taylor Swift concert on Saturday night.

It was a good time.

BUT.

She played about 90% slow songs.

Slow songs + really long concert = sleepy Alex.

But then...

Nelly suddenly appeared on stage as a special guest.

I think that greatly pleased all of us over the age of 20.

Trust me, there weren't many of us.

The view from our suite.

She was right below us on this little spinning tree thing.

Oh hey, Nelly. Makes perfect sense that you're at a Taylor Swift show.

You may already know this, but Taylor Swift has a Scottish Fold kitten named Meredith.

I know this because she tweeted pictures of her.

I was hoping she'd bring her out on stage.

Crazy cat lady, I know.

Angry girl country music

This weekend I'll be seeing this little lady in cocert:

T-Swift puts on a good show, y'all.

Plus the concert is at our terrible baseball team's ball park. You know what that means?

Hot dogs.

Leave it to me to be as equally excited about the food as I am about the music.

Musical musings

I can't get this song out of my head.
It breaks my heart and throws it on the ground.
I'm obsessed.

The girls and I saw a band called Boyce Avenue last night, and they put on a fantastic show.
They do covers, but also have their own album.
This is my favorite cover they did last night. One of my all-time favorite songs.

And this is my favorite original song of theirs.

Go check them out!!

If I lived in the 60s I would have been a crazed Beatles fan

Houstonites!

Do you like The Beatles?

Do you enjoy watching old people drunkenly dance to their music?

Yes?!

Well, check out these guys

Beetle

They are aptly named, as they are a Beatles cover band.

Check out their website HERE.

Every Thursday night they provide seriously fun entertainment.

I am hereby requesting them for my 25th birthday bash.

Have a funtastic [yes, FUNtastic] weekend, everyone!

I'll be celebrating the birth of the one and only Caroline Brown!
