Why Indian weddings are the best- Round 2

It wouldn't be normal if I didn't have at least one more wedding before I left, and being a bridesmaid in this Haritha & Karthik's was a great way to end my tenure as the girl who goes to the most weddings.

I'm a bit disappointed that this is my last Indian wedding because they're so much fun [though reallyyy long].

Goal for Australia: Make Indian friends and make sure to get invited to their weddings.

Alex Maldonado- Wedding guest extraordinaire!

Apparently age 26 is when all your friends get married.

I attended a whopping 10 weddings this year and was in three.

Let's break it down, shall we?

February

Cath & Quinton
[extra points for this one being in Australia]

March

Courtney & Jake

May

Rebecca & David

June- what I like to refer to as the wedding double header. One weekend. Two weddings. Two bridesmaid dresses.

Emily & Ben

Swampy & Neeraj

July

Taylor & Mark

August

Sarah & Comeaux

September

Kassie & Zack

October

Marjory & Matt

November

Jordan & Zach

Clearly I should go into a new career field...professional wedding guest! Trust me, I have it down by this point. And even more...I actually love going to weddings.
I admit it.
Free food, free booze, lots of embarrassing dancing in which I'm usually the first one out on the floor, CAKE, and even a competitive ritual in which women fight each other to the death for a bouquet of flowers.
Oh, you don't take bouquet tosses that seriously? Pardon me.
Oh and happiness and love and all that, of course.

So there we have it folks, wedding guest of the year!

Now I have a break...until February.

On why Indian weddings are awesome

It may have lasted all day long, but I had a blast being a bridesmaid in an Indian wedding for the following reasons:

1. Copious amounts of delicious Indian food
2. The most gorgeous sari that I want to wear every day [but can't because there's no way I can get it on by myself]
3. The best hair and makeup job I've ever had in my life
4. All the colors and vibrant traditions
5. The sheer uniqueness of it all
6. The FIREWORKS SHOW
7. The food trucks that came in from Austin
8. The delicious cupcakes
9. The speech I got to give even though I cried my way through it
10. The fact that it was for one of my best friends :)

The venue was gorgeous, the bride wore three different outfits, there was a choreographed Bollywood dance, and we danced our little hearts out until 11 pm even though it was on a Sunday.

I'd say the exhaustion was well worth it to be able to share such a special day with my Fab Four girls.

Here's to another Indian wedding in February!

I am a real life version of 27 Dresses

I went from being in Dallas on a Saturday evening looking like this

To San Antonio on a Sunday morning looking like this

Not only did I switch cities, I switched cultures too!!

And let me say, God bless the makeup artist who fixed my monster face on Sunday. I showed up with bloodshot allergy eyes and one tired looking face. My only explanation is that she is a wizard.

More pictures to come when I get out of the daze of being in two weddings in one weekend.
