Why Indian weddings are the best- Round 2

It wouldn't be normal if I didn't have at least one more wedding before I left, and being a bridesmaid in this Haritha & Karthik's was a great way to end my tenure as the girl who goes to the most weddings.

I'm a bit disappointed that this is my last Indian wedding because they're so much fun [though reallyyy long].

Goal for Australia: Make Indian friends and make sure to get invited to their weddings.

On why Indian weddings are awesome

It may have lasted all day long, but I had a blast being a bridesmaid in an Indian wedding for the following reasons:

1. Copious amounts of delicious Indian food
2. The most gorgeous sari that I want to wear every day [but can't because there's no way I can get it on by myself]
3. The best hair and makeup job I've ever had in my life
4. All the colors and vibrant traditions
5. The sheer uniqueness of it all
6. The FIREWORKS SHOW
7. The food trucks that came in from Austin
8. The delicious cupcakes
9. The speech I got to give even though I cried my way through it
10. The fact that it was for one of my best friends :)

The venue was gorgeous, the bride wore three different outfits, there was a choreographed Bollywood dance, and we danced our little hearts out until 11 pm even though it was on a Sunday.

I'd say the exhaustion was well worth it to be able to share such a special day with my Fab Four girls.

Here's to another Indian wedding in February!

I am a real life version of 27 Dresses

I went from being in Dallas on a Saturday evening looking like this

To San Antonio on a Sunday morning looking like this

Not only did I switch cities, I switched cultures too!!

And let me say, God bless the makeup artist who fixed my monster face on Sunday. I showed up with bloodshot allergy eyes and one tired looking face. My only explanation is that she is a wizard.

More pictures to come when I get out of the daze of being in two weddings in one weekend.

EXTREME EXCITEMENT

CONGRATULATIONS RONNIE AND MARSHAL!!!!

It's a Fab Four engagement!!
I could not be more excited about this. I mean, this is one of my oldest BFFs we're talking about!!
Upon hearing the news yesterday, I started crying/fidgeting/jumping up and down/making happy noises at my desk.
After about 5 billion years of dating, Marshal popped the question with one whopper of a ring. In fact, it was Ronnie's dream ring. What a guy!

Fun fact: Ronnie and Marshal met when we all worked at Six Flags Fiesta Texas the summer between our Sophomore and Junior years of high school. We had the glamorous job of being "locker technicians" in the water park. Basically we stood out in the sun all day and got great tans while listening to the same oldies beach songs over and over again; then when the park closed we would clear out every single locker that still had things in it. Told you it was glamorous. Despite the less than thrilling job description, we all had more fun the two summers we worked together. Marshal was crazy about Ronnie from day one, though it took the Rons a little while to come around.
But now the rest is history :)

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS WEDDING!!
