Bad blogger

I have been a horrible blogger lately.
Apologies!!

Last week was filled with concerns with my main man ginger cat, Chester. He caught an upper respiratory infection from the dreadful Henry [ok he's not dreadful, but I feel so bad that I adopted a sick cat and got Chester sick in turn], and was at the vet's for two nights. It was the saddest thing :(
Anyway, I won't go into detail about my sick cat because that is undoubtedtly the sign of a crazy cat lady.

The weekend was spent doing NOTHING and enjoying the gorgeous weather we've been having in Houston. In fact, Caroline and I went for a run yesterday even thought we both abhore exercise. True story: We will never run FOR FUN like so many people do. Half marathon? No thanks. Marathon? Oh hellll no. So as you can imagine, our run was more of a walk.
Nevertheless, we wanted to reward ourselves for voluntarily exercising. How did we do this, you might ask?
By eating nachos and drinking outside.
We like to call this "Sunday Funday." I think everyone should have a little of this in their life every once in a while. It turned into quite the gathering of fun-loving friends. Caroline and I are obviously geniuses when it comes to planning weekend activities.

That's all I have, amigos. I'm hoping for some blog inspiration soon.

Have a beautiful week!

P.S. Has anyone seen Catfish? I watched it Saturday night and was actually quite pleased. It hooked me from the beginning.

Update

Still alive.
Cable and internet is now in my apartment!
[yet I am still blogging at work]
I have much picture uploading and TV show catching up to do.

Some highlights of the past couple of weeks:
1. Delicious Mexican food.
2. Spending entirely too much money on apartment related things. IKEA took a chunk of my soul. And I still don't have a proper couch, coffee table, or pretty bedside table.
3. Indian pizza! Yes. The Bombay Pizza Company in downtown Houston puts Indian food on pizza. But it's not typical pizza crust. What it is is MAGIC. Can't stop thinking about it.
4. Finding out that Chester is about to get a new friend. An orange cat showed up at my parent's house [almost exactly one year later after Chester was found. We apparently have a think for finding friendly orange cats around Halloween], and my mom is bringing him to me so Chester has someone to keep him company. Chester requires lots of attention, so this will make me feel better when I have to leave him alone.

Tomorrow is mine and Aaron's two year anniversary! We are having dinner, and apparently he has a whole day of activities planned for Saturday. I am quite excited. Since my new camera was part anniversary gift, I plan on utilizing it fully this weekend so I can have quality pictures like you other fellow bloggers!

A list of nothing

Oh my, have I been slacking! For once work is actually busy. Gasp!
I had the best weekend, just so you know. I like making lists, so that's just what I'll do.

1. My hair has a shape again. Thank you, Orie, at Visible Changes.

2. I went to the wedding of a friend from college. We met through Fish Camp, and so far he is the FOURTH person from good ol' Camp Powell to tie the knot (two of them married each other!). Needless to say, very good times ensued. I love weddings, and this one was beyond fun.

Pretending to be on the Titanic. I think. There were free margaritas, so nothing is too certain!

Members of Camp Powell who were present holding up the lucky groom.

My dear friend, Jenna. We forgot what a good time we have together. I like to think we were the life of the party!

3. After craving them for over a year, I finally tracked down Kinder Bueno bars in the states! I should have known World Market would carry them. They maybe weren't actually displayed and I maybe climed up a shelf to grab them out of a box, but a three pack is now mine!! Knowing where to buy them is both a good and bad thing.

4. I read the newest Sookie Stackhouse book. Amazing as usual. I hate having to wait so long in between books though!

5. I returned to College Station with TWO new cookbooks. The Silver Spoon, Italy's best selling cookbook for over 50 years, and Taste of Home's Cooking Light. Can't wait to sample some new recipes!

6. I finished my first month of P90X and actually noticed results this time around! So I guess following the diet is the way to go. But I maybe ate a cupcake this weekend anyway. Oops.

7. I am very much debating whether or not I should buy my Canon Rebel XS today. I have a 10% coupon at Best Buy, plus they don't charge interest if you pay it off in 18 months. I have never put anything on a credit card that I didn't pay off immediately, so I'm rather nervous. What should I do?? I really do want it.

8. True Blood came back yesterday. I am not blessed with HBO, but I turned to trusty casttv.com and watched part of the season premier at lunch (while sitting in an empty office...definitely not the kind of show I should watch at my very public desk). I'm itching to finish it up, but it will have to wait until tomorrow's lunch. No internet at home=TERRIBLE.

This weekend I'll be heading to the river for a weekend with some of my favorite girls. Can't wait!

Oops

I've been such an absentee blogger lately.
Here are my reasons why.

1. This particular entry from the blog Hyperbole and a Half. Boredom, and the encouragement of a friend, led me to create my own Alot drawing.

You're welcome.

2. The series finale of LOST. I admit, watching it had become such a chore and I was enormously ready for it to end. I finally forced myself through the episode and was not disappointed. Am I still confused? Yes. Are they all dead now? Who knows. My greatest hope for the show was that Jack and Kate would ultimately end up together, and I was beyond happy that it actually happened. Plus, Jack's dying moments were spent with Vincent the dog. Perfection. Sorry if I just spoiled that for anyone.

3. The Vampire Diaries series. Not the TV show, the books. Because most good things in life are descended from books. My friend Maegan sent them all to me in PDF format, and I have breezed through them. They make the work day go by so much faster! I tend to become very invested in books, especially trashy teen ones, so reading these has taken precedence over everything else internet related. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a cheap thrill. Warning: They are totally different from the TV show. But in a good way.

These things have taken up large chunks of my time, so much so that I began to forsake blogging. I promised myself I would return once I find out what happens to Elena/Stefan/Damon.
