I could sit here and wax nostalgic about Harry Potter and how my childhood came to an end this past Saturday as I watched the epic conclusion to the saga.

But I won't.

All you need to know is this:

I cried through the whole thing.

Red nose from constant crying.

I was attached, what can I say.

So thank you Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

I hope my kids pick up my well-worn copies of the books one day and fall in love like I did.

Don't be fooled by the "young adult" classification you will find on them; these books will satisfy anyone.

There is action, blood, danger, political unrest, AND A LOVE TRIANGLE.

[And maybe I've cried an unacceptable number of times over aforementioned love.]

I'm in obsession mode right now as I read the last book in the trilogy.

Me...if I were a fictional character

Sometimes I like to forget how old I am and read books that are more appropriate for pre-pubescent girls.

It's ok, I promise.

Never one to give up on a series, I couldn't help but finish up the Princess Diaries books that I missed after high school.



They are silly, y'all.

This girl complaaaaains and is dramatic and boy crazy and dorky and...ME [minus the whole being a princess thing. I wish.].

Yes, Princess Mia is startlingly similar to high school Alex.

It is apparent why I loved these books so much back in the day.

[and still do]

And now I know where I got the idea of calling one's virginity their "precious gift."
