The Sydney Opera House

For my birthday (four months ago), Will and I went to Sydney for the weekend.

I'm all about iconic landmarks, so clearly I took 500 photos of the Opera House.

Since it was New Year's Day, the Harbour Bridge still had some lights set up from the previous night's celebrations.

Sydney is so different from Melbourne, but you can't deny the charm of the bridge and the Opera House.

We spent the evening wandering around Circular Quay and The Rocks, including a tragically average dinner at a place called Pony. Traveler's tip: Don't go to Pony if you visit Sydney.

27

I turned three years to 30 on January 3.

By the way, I think when I hit 30 I will just keep celebrating 27. It seems like a good idea.

I celebrated with food, friends, and cocktails. So basically it was perfect.

Throughout the day I was overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends. From flower and cupcake deliveries to cat themed presents, I was spoiled by these amazing people on my special day.

I sure am going to miss them!

The day I turn 26

Late-ish 20s...bring it

Via
Just an FYI...I googled "birthday cake with unicorns and cats" [because let's be honest, my ultimate dream birthday cake would involve both creatures], and this is what came up. You're welcome.

25 is a birthday that should be celebrated well

...so I'll be spending it here:
Credit

!!!!!

The ginger [and his friend] and I will be taking the European continent by storm this winter.

Tentative itinerary:
Dublin [not so tentative since we're flying in here]
Liverpool [Beatles museum. Duh.]
London [spending New Years Eve here]
Paris [for the big 2-5]
Perhaps another destination in France. Suggestions?
Amsterdam

This is where my international, well-traveled bloggy friends come in handy.
Any recommendations on things to see/do and places to stay in Dublin and Amsterdam?
I've been to London and Paris, but do you have any favorite places to stay there [I've stayed with friends/in hostels before].
And where's the best place to celebrate NYE in London?
Most importantly, how does a girl spend her 25th birthday in Paris??

I.AM.EXCITED.

Birthday business

My internet decided to start working on its own. It was a 2011 miracle!!

So here are a few shots from my birthday celebrations. Yes, plural. When you start getting old, you have to milk birthdays for all they're worth!

Rather than feel embarrassed, I was quite excited about doing the chicken dance in front a  crowded bar. The other girl? Not so much. Poor thing, it was her 21st birthday.

Picnic on my birthday. I definitely took the day off.

My favorites!

Magical pork loin with yucca stuffing, jumbo lump crab meat, avacado, and some sort of sauce from heaven.

Free tres leches cake?? Don't mind if I do!!

24

Welp, today I celebrate making it 24 whole years!

Whoa. It feels older, I tell you. I feel like I should be imparting some great wisdom right now, but I'm rather unworthy, even at this ripe age. Maybe I can be more useful when I look like this:

[minus the smoking]

Come on 24, bring me something exciting!!
